Thankful Thursday # 4 and Word Filled Wednesday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

It's Thursday and there are lot of blessings that I need to be thankful. The Lord is really good in all situations. He is faithful yesterday, today and will be tomorrow!!!

Here are my lists for this week:

1. Thank You Lord that December is finally here. It's only 2 weeks more or less to go and my baby will come out soon. We will name her "Lishan Jeshaiah" You never know how excited to see her for the first time.

2. Thankful also that all my baby essentials are almost complete. I have my nursery and all other minor details for the coming baby.

3. I thank you Lord once again for my good OB-Gynecologist Dr. Francis Arnold Cañaveral who assist me well through the terms of my pregnancy.

4. I am thankful also that the Lord was glorified when my two boys led the invocation at the school activity yesterday by playing the flute the melody of "This is My Desire"..

5. Thankful also for the coming Children's Fun Day at the church this Lord's Day where my little girl will memorize a verse and sing a children song. How I love to see my kids give glory to the Lord at their very young age.

See more thankful list at Sonya's blog. Be blessed every one knowing that the Lord is good all the time.

Word Filled Wednesday: Hebrews 4:12

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse!

The Greek word denotes the constant word of God. Here it refers to the word in that is quoted from the Old Testament (as indicated by the word for at the beginning of this verse). That word is living, operative, and sharper than a two-edged sword.

According to the Bible, man is a tripartite being — spirit, soul, and body (1 Thes. 5:23). Here, in this verse, are the joints and marrow — which are parts of the body — and the soul and spirit.

The foregoing verses describe the children of Israel as falling away from entering into the rest of the good land. With them there were three places: (1) Egypt, from which they were delivered; (2) the wilderness, in which they wandered; and (3) Canaan, into which they entered. Their history in these three places signifies the three stages of their participation in God's full salvation. This is a type of us, the New Testament believers, in our participation in the full salvation of God. In the first stage we receive Christ and are redeemed and delivered from the world. In the second stage we become wanderers in following the Lord; our wandering always takes place in our soul. In the third stage we partake of and enjoy Christ in a full way; this is experienced in our spirit. When we pursue the pleasures of material and sinful things, we are in the world, typified by Egypt. When we wander in our soul, we are in the wilderness. When we enjoy Christ in our spirit, we are in Canaan. When the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, they were always murmuring, reasoning, and chiding. This surely took place in their soul, not in their spirit. But Caleb and Joshua believed in the word of God, obeyed the Lord, and pressed toward the goal. This surely took place not in their soul but in their spirit. At that time the receivers of this book, the Hebrew believers, were wondering what they should do with their old Hebrew religion. This wondering in their mind was a wandering in their soul, not an experience of Christ in their spirit. So the writer of this book said that the word of God, i.e., what was quoted from the Old Testament, could pierce into their wondering like a sharp two-edged sword and divide their soul from their spirit. As the marrow is concealed deep in the joints, so the spirit is deep in the soul. The dividing of the marrow from the joints requires mainly the breaking of the joints. In the same principle, the dividing of the spirit from the soul requires the breaking of the soul. The Hebrew believers' soul, with its wondering mind, its doubting concerning God's way of salvation, and its considering of its own interests, had to be broken by the living, operative, and piercing word of God that their spirit might be divided from their soul.

Our soul is our very self . In following the Lord we must deny our soul, our very self . Our spirit is the deepest part of our being, a spiritual organ with which we contact God . It is in our spirit that we are regenerated . It is in our spirit that the Holy Spirit dwells and works . It is in our spirit that we enjoy Christ and His grace . Hence, the writer of this book advised the Hebrew believers not to stagger in the wandering of their soul, which soul they had to deny, but to press on into their spirit to partake of and enjoy the heavenly Christ that they might participate in the kingdom rest of His reign in the millennium. If they staggered in the wandering of their soul, they would miss God's goal and suffer the loss of the full enjoyment of Christ and the kingdom rest.

Our spirit is the organ with which we contact God , while our heart is the organ with which we love God . Our spirit contacts, receives, contains, and experiences God. However, this requires that our heart love God first. Our soul is of three parts — mind, will, and emotion; and our spirit too is of three parts — conscience, fellowship, and intuition. Our heart is not separate from our soul and spirit but is a composition of all the parts of our soul, plus the conscience, a part of our spirit. Hence, in our heart is the mind, with the thoughts, and the will, with the intentions. The thoughts affect the intentions, and the intentions carry out the thoughts. The living word of God is able to discern the thoughts in our mind and the intentions in our will. What was quoted from the word of God by the writer in the foregoing verses was able to expose what and where the thoughts and intentions of the Hebrew believers were while they were staggering in the process of their salvation. Amen!

Ruby Tuesday: Workmates Bonding Time

It's Tuesday again! Time for something red! I decided to post some past photos with my workmates.

We love going out on Fridays, taking a break from a stressful work environment. My group loves seafood and Karaoke. That's why we always go to "Dampa" , a popular seafood wet market here in Parañaque, Philippines where you can buy fresh seafood products like prawns, crabs, squids and anything you want snd they will cook those for you with your chosen recipe. We patronize the Trinity seafood restaurant as they cook very great and Sharmila's for their unlimited Karaoke use. LOL.

Some of my workmates while waiting for our food.

Yours truly- during Karaoke time!

Another red pose from me. LOL

Some other times, we also bond through worthwhile shows like the ones we have here at Club Mwah. It's like a Las Vegas show mostly performed by gays as major performers.

That's all for this week. Visit MaryT for more Ruby Tuesday entries.

Then Sings My Soul Saturdays: Immersed In thy Love

  1. Immersed in Thy love;
    Fresher than morning dew;
    Here I'm kept away from every earthly care.
    Such tender feeling;
    Caressed by my Beloved;
    You're the loveliest, much fairer than the fair.
    • Moments with You,
      How affectionate!
      Now I seize this opportunity to say
      That I love You.
      I will be with You
      All my days, come what may.
  2. I cannot help it;
    I'm so in love with You
    For I've tasted Your divine heavenly wine.
    I'm soaked with Thy love,
    I pour my all on You.
    What my future holds for me, my Lord are Thine.
  3. I'm so attracted
    By Your constraining love,
    And Your Name is sweet as ointment poured forth
    I'm captivated by Your dear Person, Lord.
    Draw me from this age to pursue only You...
Though I am a bit late with my entry, nothing can stop me from expressing how beautiful to be loved by the Lord. Moments with Him is the best moments in our life. How we just need to be immersed in His love day by day.

"God delights in our loving Him, for this is good to Him. Just as it is profitable for us to believe in the Lord and have eternal life, so God wants us to love Him as well as to believe in Him; for loving Him is God's gain too." (Watchman N., Grace for grace)
1 John 2:15 says, "Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him." For us to really forsake the world, we must have something better in our heart. God has not demanded that we cast away anything; He instead puts before us the more excellent. For the sake of possessing the more excellent, we naturally will forsake many lesser things. May we possess and love this excellent One - Christ.

Word Filled Wednesday: Matthew 6:26

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse!

Our life is more than food, and our body is more than clothing. Both our life and our body were brought into existence by God, not by our anxiety. Since God created us with a life and a body, surely He will care for their needs. The kingdom people do not need to be anxious about this.

Ruby Tuesday: The Ifugao People

For Ruby Tuesday November 3rd edition, I just thought it would be lovely to pose something which is a part of the Filipino culture.. - The Ifugao Native People.

You may not have heard of the Ifugao people of the Banaue area of the Philippines, but you have quite likely seen their handiwork. For over a period spanning thousands of years, the Ifugao have labored to transform the precipitous mountain sides of their homeland into an amazing series of stepped rice terraces. In fact the rice terraces here are so plentiful that if they were placed end to end it has been estimated that they would stretch half way around the earth. Thousands of tourists come to visit rice terraces every year, yet few bother to learn about the Ifugao people who are responsible for their construction. These people occupy an area of about 900 square miles in the province of Ifugao.

The Ifugao have some customs and rituals that seem rather strange to the Western observer. In some areas, for instance they do not bury the dead. Instead they wrap them in cloth and hang them in trees where they drip during decomposition. Once the body has been reduced to a skeleton it is wrapped in what is called a death blanket and kept under the eaves of the hut. The Ifugao people also engage in elaborate rituals to appease their dead ancestors. Priests plead on behalf of the people to request the dead not to come back for their relatives. Animal sacrifices are also offered to appease these dead ones.

Ifugao's are known for their rich handiwork and their tribal dances.

An Ifugao, building a hut... (this was taken at Tam-awan Village during our tour to Baguio)

Some of the beautiful handiwork of the Ifugao's sold at Tam-awan Village Shop

An Ifugao Dance.. (They have tribal shows at Tam-awan Village on some occassions)

I love the color of their costume. Actually Ifugao's one of the most dominant colors in their artworks and costumes is RED.

By the way, this is the Banaue Rice Terraces one of the seven wonders in the world and this is one of the masterpieces of the Ifugao people . Take note they did this by hand.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday- The Lord is My Shepherd

This entry is late... However wont stop me to pose something that made my spirit and soul sing to the Lord. I have few environments and circumstances these past few days. My two sons are admitted in the hospital due to some bronchial infection. I have some financial matters to think, but it reminded me that the Lord is my real shepherd and my real rest. I just have to trust in HIM in everything. " He is my real Shepherd and I shall not want or lack anything". He is the real doctors for my sons and my real Father who takes care of my needs.

I so love Psalm 23. This is memorable for me too. I recited this verse to my eldest premature son when he was thriving for life on the ventilator. I held his tiny hands and said to him the Psalm 23 prayer.. God has been amazing from the start , so faithful yesterday, today and will be tomorrow.. Amen for our real Shepherd..

Yummy Sunday: Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon

Sorry if I am late in posting my Yummy Sunday entry. I was so tired yesterday from walking to and fro Megamall. We were there after Lord's Table Meeting to bond and to look for a costume for my daughter for their school's trick or treat coming Friday, October 30. I hope my entry is not too late as I am posting here what we ate for dinner at Seafood Grill.

It's the Yummy Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon (Salmon Head cooked in a sour broth). I really loved it and was satisfied with the meal. It was super yummy and healthy. I love the fish salmon a lot. However, it's so expensive. LOL

For those who are not familiar of the term " Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon" , it is actually a Fish Salmon's head cooked by boiling it with sour bases like tamarind and tomatoes together till tender and cooked. It is seasoned with Onion, salt and pepper to taste. You can add spinach or Camote tops and radish if you are pleased with it. There you go, a healthy and yummy meal all packed into one!
