My company Crown Relocations , went off again to be corporately responsible. It is such a good feeling working in a company who shares responsibility to its community, environment and the world as a whole.

This time around 35 Crown employees joined hand-in-hand with a non-govermental organization to help a small coastal community in Calatagan, Batangas rehabilitate its mangrove area. Each of us planted 75 Mangrove seedlings in the area.

It was an exhausting activity. All of us were soaked under the scorching sun. Some got pricked by unwanted thorns and some stepped on spikey sea urchins. But the labor was not in vain. Mangroves save the coastal ecosystem. They protect the coastal areas in many ways : from eroision, storms, and tsunamis. Moreover, Mangroves serve as homes for many important species of fish and other commercial coastal organisms.

So , to top it all , we felt socially responsible! Go Crown, Reach out More to save the world!

Here it refers to the word in that is quoted from the Old Testament (as indicated by the word for at the beginning of this verse). That word is living, operative, and sharper than a two-edged sword.

According to the Bible, man is a tripartite being — spirit, soul, and body (1 Thes. 5:23). Here, in this verse, are the joints and marrow — which are parts of the body — and the soul and spirit.

The foregoing verses describe the children of Israel as falling away from entering into the rest of the good land. With them there were three places: (1) Egypt, from which they were delivered; (2) the wilderness, in which they wandered; and (3) Canaan, into which they entered. Their history in these three places signifies the three stages of their participation in God's full salvation. This is a type of us, the New Testament believers, in our participation in the full salvation of God. In the first stage we receive Christ and are redeemed and delivered from the world. In the second stage we become wanderers in following the Lord; our wandering always takes place in our soul. In the third stage we partake of and enjoy Christ in a full way; this is experienced in our spirit. When we pursue the pleasures of material and sinful things, we are in the world, typified by Egypt. When we wander in our soul, we are in the wilderness. When we enjoy Christ in our spirit, we are in Canaan. When the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, they were always murmuring, reasoning, and chiding. This surely took place in their soul, not in their spirit. But Caleb and Joshua believed in the word of God, obeyed the Lord, and pressed toward the goal. This surely took place not in their soul but in their spirit. At that time the receivers of this book, the Hebrew believers, were wondering what they should do with their old Hebrew religion. This wondering in their mind was a wandering in their soul, not an experience of Christ in their spirit. So the writer of this book said that the word of God, i.e., what was quoted from the Old Testament, could pierce into their wondering like a sharp two-edged sword and divide their soul from their spirit. As the marrow is concealed deep in the joints, so the spirit is deep in the soul. The dividing of the marrow from the joints requires mainly the breaking of the joints. In the same principle, the dividing of the spirit from the soul requires the breaking of the soul. The Hebrew believers' soul, with its wondering mind, its doubting concerning God's way of salvation, and its considering of its own interests, had to be broken by the living, operative, and piercing word of God that their spirit might be divided from their soul.
Our soul is our very self . In following the Lord we must deny our soul, our very self . Our spirit is the deepest part of our being, a spiritual organ with which we contact God . It is in our spirit that we are regenerated . It is in our spirit that the Holy Spirit dwells and works . It is in our spirit that we enjoy Christ and His grace . Hence, the writer of this book advised the Hebrew believers not to stagger in the wandering of their soul, which soul they had to deny, but to press on into their spirit to partake of and enjoy the heavenly Christ that they might participate in the kingdom rest of His reign in the millennium. If they staggered in the wandering of their soul, they would miss God's goal and suffer the loss of the full enjoyment of Christ and the kingdom rest.

Our spirit is the organ with which we contact God , while our heart is the organ with which we love God . Our spirit contacts, receives, contains, and experiences God. However, this requires that our heart love God first. Our soul is of three parts — mind, will, and emotion; and our spirit too is of three parts — conscience, fellowship, and intuition. Our heart is not separate from our soul and spirit but is a composition of all the parts of our soul, plus the conscience, a part of our spirit. Hence, in our heart is the mind, with the thoughts, and the will, with the intentions. The thoughts affect the intentions, and the intentions carry out the thoughts. The living word of God is able to discern the thoughts in our mind and the intentions in our will. What was quoted from the word of God by the writer in the foregoing verses was able to expose what and where the thoughts and intentions of the Hebrew believers were while they were staggering in the process of their salvation. Amen!

Visit Susan of Forever His for more WFW blessings!

with Love,

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04601503272158737087noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000753665889677316.post-56159878216047443072009-11-24T12:28:00.005+08:002009-11-24T15:35:32.477+08:00Ruby Tuesday: YesterdayI suddenly miss the old times. Just as it is profitable for us to believe in the Lord and have eternal life, so God wants us to love Him as well as to believe in Him; for loving Him is God's gain too." (Watchman N., Grace for grace)
1 John 2:15 says, "Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him." For us to really forsake the world, we must have something better in our heart. God has not demanded that we cast away anything; He instead puts before us the more excellent. For the sake of possessing the more excellent, we naturally will forsake many lesser things. May we possess and love this excellent One - Christ.

I have included a piano score here for those who are interested to learn the hymn.

Click on the image for a larger view.

For more powerful hymns please visit Amy. For over a period spanning thousands of years, the Ifugao have labored to transform the precipitous mountain sides of their homeland into an amazing series of stepped rice terraces. In fact the rice terraces here are so plentiful that if they were placed end to end it has been estimated that they would stretch half way around the earth. Thousands of tourists come to visit rice terraces every year, yet few bother to learn about the Ifugao people who are responsible for their construction. These people occupy an area of about 900 square miles in the province of Ifugao.

The Ifugao have some customs and rituals that seem rather strange to the Western observer. In some areas, for instance they do not bury the dead. Instead they wrap them in cloth and hang them in trees where they drip during decomposition. Once the body has been reduced to a skeleton it is wrapped in what is called a death blanket and kept under the eaves of the hut. The Ifugao people also engage in elaborate rituals to appease their dead ancestors. Priests plead on behalf of the people to request the dead not to come back for their relatives. Animal sacrifices are also offered to appease these dead ones.

Ifugao's are known for their rich handiwork and their tribal dances.

An Ifugao, building a hut... However wont stop me to pose something that made my spirit and soul sing to the Lord. I have few environments and circumstances these past few days. My two sons are admitted in the hospital due to some bronchial infection. I have some financial matters to think, but it reminded me that the Lord is my real shepherd and my real rest. I just have to trust in HIM in everything. " He is my real Shepherd and I shall not want or lack anything". He is the real doctors for my sons and my real Father who takes care of my needs.

I so love Psalm 23. This is memorable for me too. I recited this verse to my eldest premature son when he was thriving for life on the ventilator. I held his tiny hands and said to him the Psalm 23 prayer.. I was so tired yesterday from walking to and fro Megamall. We were there after Lord's Table Meeting to bond and to look for a costume for my daughter for their school's trick or treat coming Friday, October 30. I hope my entry is not too late as I am posting here what we ate for dinner at Seafood Grill.

It's the Yummy Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon (Salmon Head cooked in a sour broth). Why do we dream of old boyfriends, friends or grade school teachers that we have not thought about for years.

I for one have dreamed about my ex-boyfriend back when I was in college, the weirdest thing is he was not even my serious boyfriend. LOL. He was just a fling or someone I used to get attracted with. We did not share a close and deep relationship and I haven't thought about him for years, swear. It was weird as it was as if we shared a deep love for each other in my dream. He wanted to win me back and I was on tears being touched by what he has shown and thought it was real. But then the alarm clocked rang and I opened my eyes. It's already morning. What was that all about?

If I would interpret that, I would say that humans as we are , we have the soul and spirit, it might be something that signals psychological reaching out with that person. However, there are some psychological explanations as to why we have such dreams.

Dreams are curious, nebulous phenomena and humans have been trying to make sense of them since we first became aware of ourselves. Great minds from the Hebrew Joseph to Carl Jung have tried to crack the dream code, yet most of us still wake up thinking, “What did that all mean?”

Dream interpretation can offer some clues as to why certain elements and people find their ways into our dreams, but to really crack the code takes some work and thought.

Our unconscious mind never sleeps. According to Freud, our conscious minds need to disconnect from all stimuli, but we also need to maintain some level of awareness so that we can wake up again. To make sure that happens, while we sleep, our minds channel thoughts and needs into the unconscious brain in the form of dreams. The language of the unconscious is symbolic rather than literal and therefore, so is the content of the dreams it produces. Freud referred to the images and elements that appear in dreams as “manifest content” that represents and alludes to a deeper personal meaning, or “latent content,” to the dreamer. In other words, every part of a dream refers to some other thought or situation, but this connection can only be understood by the dreamer.

There are no random dreams. According to Freud, then, there is no such thing as a random element in a dream, only elements whose relevance we don’t quite understand. In fact, most of what we see and experience in our dreams is obscure to our waking minds. We won’t have seen or thought about someone in ages, and then suddenly he’ll appear as a central figure in a dream, or someone in our peripheral awareness will come to the fore at a seemingly arbitrary time.

Dreams work similarly to literature, art, and music in the way they connect our minds and feelings. Both dreams and art allow us to safely see the sights experiences by approaching them through symbols. They use what we do know to help us understand what we don’t. Art utilizes images, literature applies similes and metaphors, and dreams use elements from our everyday lives to guide our minds through difficult and emotional concepts. It’s alright to dream like this. We can still sleep anyway. Though dreaming of people we haven’t thought of in years may seem like just a coincidence of the brain at the time, such accidental elements are really apparent manifestations of more deep-seeded matters.

With that, I need to sit back and think clearly and associate my dream in reality as to what it represents.

with Love,

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04601503272158737087noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000753665889677316.post-20458739958566946592009-10-18T20:42:00.004+08:002009-10-18T20:52:08.768+08:00Yummy Sunday: Ginataang Hipon

I love what we have tonight, my favorite ulam .

" Ginataang Hipon with Kalabasa and Sitaw (Shrimp in coconut milk with Squash and String Beans)

Yummy!!! So I decided to join for the first time in a beautiful meme hosted by Sonya of Truth 4 the Journey. The idea is to list down five things we are thankful for the week. Then hit back to the hostess' blog to link up with Mr. Linky.

I praise the and thank the Lord for the wonderful things we have this week:

1. First of All , Thank You Lord for this meme that I have joined for the first time. For the 28th year birthday of my husband last October 13. Thank you Lord for preserving him all through the years and letting him experience You in many untold ways and for the meals on our table and all the things that we need.

3. I have been kept safe by the Lord, though my pregnancy is a little bit risky and stressful , He has kept me in His loving embrace that for the week , I am able to come to work.

4. I am thankful for the health of my children: Aljodon David, Al'jered Nicolas, Alikah Arienh and Lishan Jeshaiah (who is still in my tummy).

5. How we need to seek first the Lord's Kingdom and His righteousness and that we need will be taken cared of by the Father. The Father's kingdom is the reality of the kingdom of the heavens today, the reality of the church life today, and will be the manifestation of the kingdom of the heavens in the coming age. The Father's righteousness is the righteousness expressed by the keeping of the new law of the kingdom. This righteousness is Christ, who is lived out by the kingdom people. Since the kingdom people seek first the kingdom and the righteousness of their heavenly Father, not only will His kingdom and His righteousness be given to them, but also all that they need will be added to them.

Visit more of WFW entries at Lori's place this week's host..

with Love,

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04601503272158737087noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000753665889677316.post-66253367349096917462009-10-12T10:48:00.004+08:002009-10-12T10:53:26.383+08:00New TemplateHi everyone!!
